Raymond Lee Fryberg, Jr., 42, the father of Jaylen Fryberg, has been convicted on gun charges. The father had been barred from possessing firearms after being issued a protective order several years ago.
The order stemmed from the alleged assault of his partner, reports NBC News.
One of the guns in the father’s possession was used by his 15-year-old son, who, last October, opened fire inside the cafeteria of Marysville-Pilchuck High School, killing four of his friends before taking his own life.
Prosecutors said the father lied on the disclosure form when he purchased the gun, saying he wasn’t subject to restrictions.
This is the first time someone other than the gunman has been convicted of charges relating to a school shooting, reports UPI.
