A 19-year-old private school student was convicted of charges relating to a 2014 hazing incident that took place in a dorm building.
Maverick Homsley, 19, was convicted of sodomy or attempted sodomy for his part in a hazing ritual against underclassmen during a summer camp, reports stltoday.com.
Four students of the Principia School in Missouri testified that they were victims in the attack. The charges carry a minimum sentence of five years in prison.

According to court documents, Homsley and four other upperclassmen at the boarding school conducted raids of the younger students’ rooms, held them down and pushed their hands or a “hard object” against or into their anuses through their athletic shorts or boxers.
Three other students have pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and another student awaits trial in the case.
“They intimidated them and they wanted to show these young boys who was boss,” Assistant Prosecutor Melissa Smith says of the incident. “The day we excuse sodomy as a prank or horsing around is the day we fail children.”
The defense lawyer denied that any evidence suggested that the hazing was a sexual act.
Homsley was responsible for holding the boys’ down while other students sodomized them. The other people accused in the case are Joshua Brewer, 19, Ricardo Loma, 19, Jason Bemis, 17, and Luke DeNicholas, 18.
