Bystander Intervention
Bystander intervention training has been used by schools and colleges in response to problems like sexual assault.
Researchers from the University of Kentucky released a study earlier this year showing that bystander intervention training at the high school level can make a major difference in the amount of sexual violence on campus.
“We found that sexual violence can be prevented, this violence is not inevitable,” the study’s lead author Ann Coker said. “Adolescents and young adults can learn how to identify risky situations and safely intervene to prevent violence.”
