In 1960, Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil and David Richmond became known as the Greensboro Four when they refused to leave the segregated lunch counter of F.W. Woolworth.
The group inspired a sit-in movement in the South. As a result, many establishments integrated that year, including the Wooldowrth lunch counter.
