Study Links School Shootings to Unemployment

The Consensus Data Set
To create a consensus on the data, the researchers collated the different studies into a single chart. They then had graduate and undergraduate co-authors read reports on each event to confirm it was actually an incident of gun violence at school.
The study only counted an incident if it met these criteria: (1) the shooting must involve a firearm being discharged, even if by accident; (2) it must occur on a school campus; and (3) it must involve students or school employees, either as perpetrators, bystanders or victims.
