Tips for Deploying Digital Signage in Higher Ed

One way to solve the deployment issue is to allow for flexibility. You can deploy a centralized digital signage solution across campus, but if certain departments have a specialized need they may need to strike out on their own. For example, the business school may need to have a display that pulls in real-time financial data. That might not be something you want campus-wide. However, it makes since for the business school and speaks directly to that targeted environment. In this case, it may make sense for the business school to deploy their own digital signage rather than stick with the campus standard.
“I think they [schools] just need to have a little bit of flexibility when they realize there is a specialized application,” says Cahoy. “They may have to have a few orphans out there that are based on necessity.”
