“It is with great pleasure that I along with the Long Beach Memorial Public Safety Leadership Team, nominate Public Safety Officer Marry Warren for the IAHSS Security Officer of the Year Award. Officer Warren started her career a little more than 2 years ago in healthcare working in the lobbies of our hospital excelling in both customer service and accesses control. Officer Warren’s outgoing personality and her willingness to be a team player caught the attention of both the Hospital and Public Safey team’s attention putting her on our radar for promotion. It did not take long for this promotion to happen as she was soon promoted to Dispatcher and then Lead Dispatcher.
Over the last year Officer Warren has been involved in many projects helping to push a positive culture from both officer camaraderie and Public Safety operations perspectives. Officer Warren has played an integral role in the reshaping of our training program by taking the lead to update our training packets that all new officers must complete during New Hire onboarding. She also conducts all hands-on OJT for all new Dispatchers in training. Officers Warren has also helped in the creation of our Officer Appreciation Program along with pushing for a dedicated Public Safety breakroom for which she volunteered to take responsibility for maintaining its cleanliness.
Recently, Officer Warren played a major role in locating an elderly patient that left campus in an unknown taxi while the family could not find her after discharge. Officer Warren, using CCTV, located the patient getting into a taxi. Officer Warren took the lead in coordinating with the taxi company, local law enforcement, and hospital staff to have a welfare check conducted at the patient’s home that helped in the positive outcome of safely locating the patient.”
